This position is for a Registered Nurse whose responsibility is to coordinate the day-to-day patient care activities for patients receiving diagnostic and therapeutic services in the Surgical Services Department. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, prioritize, plan, deliver, and evaluate care provided to neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations. Refers unusual clinical and administrative problems to the Director of Surgical Services or the Nursing Supervisor. Responsible for the supervision of professional and skilled personnel during an assigned shift. The position reports to the Director of Surgical Services.
1. Minimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion of an associate degree in nursing preferred.
2. Formal Training: Clinical competence in nursing preferred.
3. Licensure, Certifications & Registration: Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Georgia; BLS certification required, ACLS certification required within 24 months of employment.
4. Work Experience: Advanced technical nursing skills. Intermediate knowledge of the nursing process. Basic cardiac arrhythmia identification skills. Basic computer skills. Minimum three (3) months medical surgical experience.
