HIM Coordinator 4, Physician Coding and Assembly/Analysis. Responsibility is to code appropriate diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines. The position also requires administrative functions necessary which include but are not limited to performing the maintenance and organization of the medical record. Perform receptionist duties, as needed, to maintain department coverage. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times. Position reports to the Director of Health Information Management/Privacy Officer and/or the Director of Medical Practices.
1. Minimum level of Education: Equivalent to completion of four years of high school with a high school diploma preferred. Completion of an anatomy and physiology course required. Completion of a medical terminology and certified coding course required. Certified coder required.
2. Formal Training: Skills with experience in planning, organizing, implementing, verbal and written communications preferred. Knowledge of and training in medical record assembling and analysis preferred.
3. Licensure, Certifications & Registration: CCA, CCS preferred.
4. Work Experience: Basic typing and computer skills with previous experience in hospital setting Health Information Management preferred.
