The Staff Nurse, RN provides professional nursing care through the application of nursing skills and processes to develop, implement, and evaluate patient's plan of care; while creating an atmosphere that supports our mission to heal, to educate, to care. The Staff Nurse, RN as the primary care giver provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other care team members, the physician and the patient/family to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The incumbent has access to confidential patient information and makes decisions independently and in collaboration with others. The Staff Nurse, RN works under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager and under the indirect supervision of the Director of Inpatient Services or Critical Care Services.
Education, Certifications and Credentials: Associate degree in nursing required or diploma RN accepted. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio required. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Certification required.
Effective 10/31/2018 for all New hires, BSN required within 3 years of hire.
Cardiac Progressive Care, Critical Care and Telemetry: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation course within 90 days of hire; Cardiac Rehab: ACLS Certification required; Cardiovascular Lab: ACLS preferred; Emergency Department: ACLS and EKG interpretation class required within 90 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within one year of hire; Medical Oncology & Radiation Oncology: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) required within one year of hire; Surgical Services: ACLS & PALS required for PACU, Same Day surgery (Intake & Discharge) and Pavilion surgery. ACLS required for Pavilion Endoscopy and Pulmonary/GI; Women's & Children's Services: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic EKG and Basic Fetal Monitoring required within 6 months of hire. ACLS and Advanced fetal monitoring required within 1 year of hire; Float Pool: ACLS and EKG interpretation course required within 90 days of hire. PALS required within 6 months of hire
Experience: Minimum of one-year experience in appropriate area of specialization preferred. Critical Care: Open Heart and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy experience Occupational Health: Experience with workers compensation preferred. Occupational Health, Emergency Department or Urgent Care experience preferred.
