Under the direct supervision of the Director of Surgical Service and in collaboration with others, participates in planning, directing and controlling material resources purchased and distributed to the Perioperative Service departments. Has 24 hour responsibility of the supervision and management of the staff.
EducationBachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Management or related field preferred. Graduate of an accredited Central Services Technician or Surgical Technology course.
ExperienceA minimum of five years supervisory/managerial experience; preferably in Sterile Processing. Minimum of 3 years Clinical Healthcare experience preferred.
Technical SkillsComputer skills to prepare reports.
License/CertificationCurrent certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists or the International Association of Health Care Central Service Materials Management registry body.
OtherThorough knowledge of asepsis, principles of decontamination, disinfection, sterilization and infection control, surgical techniques, instrument care and maintenance, patient care equipment and associated consumable supplies and their use.
