This CNA position will provide care on night-shift at the Hospice Care Centers located inside UK Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital. Our inpatient setting gives you the opportunity to combine your acute care skills with your passion of providing personalized, compassionate end-of-life care, in a low CNA-to-patient ratio.
One year experience in hospital or nursing home setting.
Proof of completion of recognized CNA training program.
Is at least 18 years of age and is a high school graduate or equivalent.
Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health.
Has ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
Satisfactory references from previous employers.
Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
Has empathy for the needs of the ill, frail, and impaired. Understands philosophy of Hospice care and needs of the terminally ill.
Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation.
Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.
Current driver's license and auto liability coverage
Negative TB skin test, pre-employment physician’s health clearance
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The CNA/Home Care Aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort. The CNA/Home Care Aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed. The CNA/Home Care Aide will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a patient's care.
