Maine Medical Center has openings for EP Lab Techs for their Cardiac Cath Lab in Portland. Eligible candidates are graduates of a school of Cardiovascular Technology or school of Radiologic Technology. RTs must be ARRT certified and have a current Maine license. Tech II positions require the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification (RCIS) as well as one – two years of invasive clinical experience.  Positions are eligible for a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus

Position Summary

The Electrophysiology Technologist will utilize a combination of training, assessment and technical skills in the accomplishment of their duties in the EP Labs. The level I EP Lab tech is required to scrub and assist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures. The position requires the use of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and constant evaluation of the patient’s hemodynamic status, electrograms and vital signs. The EP technologist will also be required to manage the digital image during the procedure. Work is performed with considerable independence. Accurate record keeping, attention to detail and a working knowledge of Windows is essential.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Sterile technique.
  • Graduate of school of Cardiovascular Technology, school of Radiologic Technology.
  • RTs must be ARRT and have a current Maine license.
  • Electrophysiology experience preferred but not required.
