POSITION QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED, Certification for Pharmacy Technician (preferred) and previous pharmacy experience. A copy of the certificate by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (if certified). Knowledge and basic understanding of the interpersonal dynamics operative within the working relationships of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Registration when required by the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy. Current Kentucky Driver’s license, auto insurance, and unlimited access to a reliable automobile. No positive drug or alcohol test including, pre-employment, random, post-accident or reasonable suspicion. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in confidential matters. Must be able to drive for extended periods of time with no ill effects. Must be flexible and have good written and oral communications skills. Possess and maintain good physical stamina and mental health. Has presented a pre-employment physician’s health clearance including a negative TB skin test and /or CXR and other tests as required by organization policy. SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES A certified pharmacy technician is subject to the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist as defined by Kentucky Law and Regulations. Functions performed by a certified technician are subject to review by the pharmacist who directed the technician to perform the functions. This may include entering prescriptions on a computer, entering refills on a computer, counting and filling prescriptions, and performing other suitable task as directed by the pharmacist as long as this is under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, and in compliance with Federal & State laws and regulations.
