TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse
REPORTS TO: Private Duty Director/Private Duty Coordinator
Is a graduate of an accredited practical nurse or a vocational nursing program.
Has one year nursing experience. Community health/Hospice, medical/surgical, or long-term care experience is preferred.
Is currently licensed as an LPN in the state.
Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. Has presented a pre-employment physician's health clearance including a negative TB skin test and/or CXR and other tests as required by organization policy.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
Understands philosophy of Hospice concept. Also understands needs of the terminally ill.
Possess and maintains current CPR Certification (online CPR certification is not acceptable).
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The LPN provides nursing care to the patient as prescribed by the physician and on compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and with the agency's policies and procedures.
