TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant (SRNA)
REPORTS TO: Private Duty Director/Private Duty Coordinator
One year experience in hospital or nursing home setting.
Completion of recognized CNA training program and currently licensed as CNA in Kentucky.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and organization requirements and is in good working order.
Is at least eighteen years of age and is a high school graduate preferred.
Possesses and maintains current CPR Certification (online CPR certification is not acceptable).
Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. Has presented a pre-employment physician's health clearance including a negative TB skin test and/or CXR and other tests as required by organization policy.
Has ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
Satisfactory references from previous employers.
Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
Has empathy for the needs of the ill, frail, and impaired. Understands philosophy of Hospice care and needs of the terminally ill.
Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
The nurse assistant is a para-professional member of the Hospice team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs, to promote the patient's comfort, and a safe environment. The nurse assistant is responsible for observing patients and reporting/documenting these observations and the services provided.
