What You Will Do:
The System Engineer will support, maintain, design and grow Valley Health's data (including VOIP) network. This position will demonstrate proficient knowledge of IP protocols and technologies. The System Engineer will proficiently support and maintain, under the guidance of senior level engineers, routers, switches, firewalls. Additionally, the position will be familiar with and support Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity, etc - configuring all in an enterprise environment. The System Engineer will
assist with managing, evaluating and resolving service effecting issues that impact both technically demanding internal and external customers. The person will be an active, contributing member of the overall design and framework of the Voice and Data network, and will work under the guidance of senior-level engineers to grow the network.
Required: Candidates must possess a CCNA/CCNP certification OR Bachelor's Degree
1-5 years of WAN / MAN / LAN/Voice network engineering in large, enterprise environment required Cisco VOIP CM ver 4.x or 6.x experience preferred Experience with Microsoft Server and/or Linux preferred
Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls required Familiar with (QOS) Quality Of Service configuration; PSTN provisioning; Cisco CallManager, and Cisco Unity preferred Knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, routing protocols required Strong troubleshooting skills including familiarity with use and interpretation of: packet / protocol analyzers, debug logs, SNMP alerts, network packets, voice call setup/breakdown logs, etc to find and remedy application and network performance issues preferred Strong organizational, analytical and communications skills necessary; self-directed individual Must be able to respond to customer needs in a timely manner
