Job Description

The Security Officer is responsible for providing safety and security services which requires regular interaction with patients, visitors, staff and clinicians in highly diverse and complex situations. Interacts with local law enforcement to provide information, clarification of events and coordinate emergency protocols. Works effectively and cooperatively within the workplace. Location/Department specific tasks and competencies may apply.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Experience/TrainingOne (1) year security, military or police experience is preferred. Healthcare facility experience preferred. License/CertificationValid Washington State Driver's license as required to perform duties. Other QualificationsEffective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications to perform work. Well developed problem solving and analytical skills required. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload amongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities. Knowledge of de-escalation techniques. Must have an acceptable driver record. Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position (may include overtime and weekend work).
