The PCC is responsible for the supervision of daily IVS activities to assure quality patient care; coordinate the efforts to staff in order to meet the needs of the patients and customers; and provide expert knowledge, leadership and education for individuals with the Interventional Services Team. The PCC will organize department flow and throughput of patients in an efficient manner.
The PCC collaborates with the team to develop educational programs to enhance the staff’s knowledge of current trends in Cardiology; to develop, implement and maintain an improvement process for cardiac services. The PCC performs chart audits for process improvement of documentation, appropriate charging of procedures and risk reduction. The PCC will anticipate and improve staffing based on department needs, collaborate with the IVS supervisor in developing and implementing projects that enhance the quality of Interventional Services. Work is performed in accordance with accepted nursing standards and established hospital policies and procedures and applicable regulations. Effective performance requires independent judgment and action under minimal supervision.
Must reside 30 minute to St Lukes for On Call Time that may be required
Hours are four 9 hour shifts with a goal of covering the department during high census times
Required - Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
Current State of Ohio license as a Registered Nurse
BLS and ACLS
Preferred - Specialty certification preferred
Required - Previous experience as a professional in a critical care area or previous experience in cardiac catheterization/EP lab.
Previous Charge or Team Leader experience preferred
· Must be able to read and speak the English language
· Frequent prolonged standing/walking
· Lifts, positions, pushes or transfers patients
· Able to lift 50 lbs maximum, with frequent lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs
