This is routine clerical and technical work in hospital pharmacy. Work is performed in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures. Effective performance requires judgment and action under direct supervision of a pharmacist and is subject to close inspection during progress and upon completion. Provides care to neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
Assist the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to ensure optimal patient outcome.
Follows Federal, State and Local laws and regulations in regards to medication control.
Dispenses and checks all medication and associated products with absolute accuracy and professional judgment.
Manages inventory, departmental policies and procedures, money and other fiscal responsibilities as required.
Performs other duties as directed.
Education: Required - Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent.
Licenses/Certifications: Required -Has passed a Pharmacy Technician certification examination approved by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; or has completed a pharmacy technician program that meets the Board’s standards for those programs and is making substantial progress in preparation to take a pharmacy examination approved by the Board. Completion of pharmacy technician program and passing certification examination must be done within one year from the date of hire.
Experience: Preferred - Experience in a hospital pharmacy or retail pharmacy
A criminal records check in accordance with Section 4776.02 and 4776.04 of the Ohio Revised Code that show the person previous has not been convicted of or has not pleaded guilty to any felony in the State of Ohio, any other state, or the United States is required.
