To maintain a safe hospital environment which minimizes the incidence/spread of infection. Environmental Service duties are performed under direct supervision and subject to inspection during progress and upon completion. Effective performance requires the ability to adjust to new methods, techniques and procedures. Assists in providing the highest quality of service for our patients, staff, visitors and community. Primary Duties: Keep all assigned building areas throughout the hospital in a clean, neat and sanitary condition following routine area assignments and completing each task and project as assigned. Assist with the efficient operation of the linen room, department and hospital. Operate and maintain department equipment such as scrubbers, linen carts, buffers and extractors in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner. Pick up and dispose of all waste streams, recyclable materials and document destruction following established procedures. Attend hospital and department in-services. Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed. Education: Required - Graduation from high school or GED. Experience: Preferred - Previous housekeeping experience
