The Central Service Training Program is up to a 6 month preceptorship designed to introduce the prospective Central Service Tech to a better understanding of Central Sterile processes. Incorporating didactic instruction via on-line and hands-on training, the program introduces the learner to the activities and skills necessary to achieve a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) title by passing the certification exam through IAHCSMM.
The Central Service Training Course is used as a guide to prepare students as they advance through the program. The program will be coordinated and supervised by preceptors chosen by the Sterile Processing Manager and Lead Techs. 6- month training will consist of computer modules, presentations, fundamentals, terminology, and on the job training concluding with the certification exam, followed by job assignments and functions in sterile processing.
High school Diploma or GED
Basic knowledge of computers
Central Service training is a contracted position and will require a 2-year work commitment post-course completion
Training will be on day shift or evening shift
The interview process will be a multistage process and will include a 4-hour shadowing opportunity
Central Service training course will begin as soon as we have interviewed and accepted offers

MRMC CSR is a strong, integrated perioperative department that offers leading-edge, compassionate healthcare and surgical services. Our 8 operating rooms complete approximately 530 cases each month and we are growing! Additionally, the CSR team also services MRMC’s ancillary departments such as Maternity, Emergency Department, Cardiac Cath Lab and Patient Care Floors. Annually, CSR produces approximately 60,000 sterile items for our hospital.
