The information described in this job description has been designed to indicate the general nature of the work performed. This position will primarily provide support to the 340 B program for Skagit Regional Health, which includes contract and specialty pharmacy program, with additional responsibilities to Pharmacy Purchasing, Skagit Regional Clinics, and retail pharmacies. The incumbent will frequently interact with Finance, Accounts Payable, Information Technology, Skagit Valley Hospital Pharmacy, and many external vendors.
High School diploma or GED required. College degree in business, finance, or health care related field is preferred.
Experience/TrainingMinimum two years as a Pharmacy Technician required; at least one year of hospital pharmacy experience is required. Prior 340 B experience in mixed use and contract pharmacy is highly preferred. Medication insurance billing and medication claim submission experience required.
License/CertificationCurrent Washington State Pharmacy Technician licensure required. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health-career Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred. Apexus Advanced Operations Certificate is highly preferred.
Other QualificationsMust be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office, EPIC, and specialized computer applications to perform work. Effectively prioritize workload amongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities, and exercise professional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with all internal and external customers, and maintain professional demeanor at all times. Develop and maintain knowledge of basic financial reporting, pharmacy practice, health insurance, medical terminology, medication billing, and related regulations. Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position, which may include overtime and weekend work.
