Job Description

Analyzes financial  data collects, monitors, and studies data and develops recommended actions to the A-CFO. Develops and prepares high level reports which summarize and forecasts business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.  Responsible for conducting analysis of revenue, credits, expenses and overhead. Develop data tools, prepare monthly and yearly financial reports, budget reports, and conduct cost-benefit analyses. Builds customized healthcare data reports as requested.  Makes official presentations to managers and executives, therefore is required to   effectively communicate findings and results.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Gathers and organizes financial data from accounting and revenue cycle departments Assists in effectively pulling together all the necessary information needed to compare revenue and expenses and determines the facility’s actual financial position. Manage the general ledger and devote time to risk management, especially with regards to accounts receivable and contractual estimates. Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data Forecast models (contractual model) for revenue changes and expense increases/decreases.  Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management. Provide End of Month reports to A-CFO for C-level executives Provides advice and guidance as necessary in preparing and analyzing financial reports and executing appropriate responsive actions. Prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions that management can use to implement more effective operational strategies Assists in regular examination of alternative automated methods of providing required accounting services in order to reduce departmental operating costs. Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts. Compile and analyze financial reports to identify discrepancies that require A-CFO attention Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials. Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions. Creates standard operating procedures to ensure constancy of recurring reports. Writes queries and creates reports to provide data to business units as needed. Produces reports for government and other audit agencies, as well as comparison reports for managers for the purpose of carrying out assigned responsibilities Gather and document functional and technical requirements and translates requirement into reporting solutions. Assist in planning, development, testing and delivery of reports and data for routine requests as well as ad hoc requests. Ensures that accurate information is provided on a timely basis and assists, as needed, in facilitating the efficient conduct of external audits, cost reports, and examinations and related financial projects. Effectively maintains clear data files; demonstrated good organizational skills. Assists in the automation in development stage of plans of action prior to implementation of a new procedure.  Increases productivity within the organization by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Consistently completes all assignments in a timely manner, thorough and appropriately detailed.   ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned.   KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES: Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills  Demonstrates proficiency in the manipulation of user defined fields and calculations Ability to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variances, and other analytics as required. Work Experience – Requires 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; 3 years of prior accounting experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. Training  License/Certification – CPA (desirable)
