The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, the site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.

Analysis and documentation
Stakeholder needs are analyzed,
structured, and specified for use in the design and implementation of a solution. Define and describe the characteristics of an acceptable technical system solution to a business problem, so that the implementation team has a clear understanding of how to design and implement it.
Identify, define and document business processes in need of improvement/implementation
Identify and document overall assumptions
Evaluate what should be automated vs. what should be improved by manual workflow procedures
Elicit requirements from stakeholders
Analyze and document user requirements
Analyze and document functional requirements
Analyze and document interface requirements
Develop data flow diagrams and/or workflow diagrams
Document requirements and receive validation and signoff from the stakeholder
Manage requirements conflicts
Communicate and negotiate with internal IS providers of hardware, software, and network requirements
Understand the current technical systems infrastructure and become a “subject matter expert” on business processes/workflow within the company
Complete analysis to recommend optimization of features and functions of systems
Perform gap analysis as required
Assist with analysis documents with options and recommendations
Assist with cost benefit analysis and/or build vs. buy analysis
Prepare business case
Study and evaluate emerging technologies for potential company use
Customer management and support
Support the implementation of new and/or changed processes/functionalities/systems:
Define and Develop Reports
Develops test scripts/scenarios/cases to test technical system before the functionality is moved to production.
Executes test cases prior to functionality moving into production.
Test any and all changes to procedures/workflows before moving into production.
User support (remote or on-site)
Training of end users or other trainers
Resource for final user documentation/procedures
Provide on-call support
Manages change requests
Familiar with the concepts of project management. Ability to understand tasks assigned on a project team. Ability to work on a project team.
Understands basics of project management. Ability to manage small projects using the Information Services small project management methodology. Actively participates in medium/large project teams utilizing project methodology tools.
BS/BA or equivalent preferred or applicable work experience with technical application systems.
Minimum 3-4 years business applications experience in broader and complex area. May have significant expertise in business area or with particular information system.
Implements, modifies, tests and administers business system applications.
Defines detailed requirements, analyzes business needs, and validates solution with the customer.
Develops collaborative partnerships across departments and business units.
Able to take initiative to become more knowledgeable about Allina’s business and the healthcare industry trends.
Challenges others thinking to create effective and efficient work processes.
Adapts quickly to changing business and technology needs.
Demonstrates sound business judgment.
Responsible for basic project planning and management.
Troubleshoots complex situations and relationships.
Ability to facilitate meetings.
Liaison between IS personnel and users to resolve workflow or functional questions.

Basic report writing and analysis, including design of simple computer screens and reports.

Monday - Friday day hours with occasional after hours for on call and application upgrades after hours
