St. Francis Regional Medical Center, located in Shakopee, Minn., provides an array of patient care services, including The Family Birth Place, Breast Center, Cancer Center, pediatric care, rehabilitation and sports medicine, as well as a range of health education and support groups. Responsibilities Req ID: 62189 Prepares entrees, potatoes, soups, chili, vegetables and side dishes for lunch and dinner Prepares patient meals via meal tickets Prepare menu items on broiler, grill and deep fryer, batch cooking or preparing to order Prepares hot foods for catering and physician’s lounge Prepare items according to production sheets Ensure foods are served at appropriate temperature Assures each plate is served with appropriate garnish in an attractive manner Prepares breakfast/lunch/dinner according to specific diet orders Assures foods are served and stored in appropriate temperatures according to HACCP guidelines Thaw meats appropriately Serves breakfast/lunch/dinner items per patient and customer needs or diets Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment per daily/weekly cleaning lists Assists co-worker with tasks if completed with own tasks Completes job in time allowed Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times Properly store food items Monitor and record temperatures of food items according to temperature sheets Record daily temperatures of equipment Communicates effectively with co-workers and management team Deliver patient trays as needed in a timely manner Education Culinary education required or previous short order and quantity food preparation preferred Qualification/Skills Experience Previous culinary and cooking experience in food preparation is required Skills Must be able to lift, pull and push 50 pounds weight Must be able to stand in one place for long periods of time Require stooping, twisting, walking and bending Require use of hands in mixing and carrying Work Schedule Candidate will need to have flexibility in their schedule which would allow them to work a mix of AM and PM shifts. Monday - Friday 5:30am - 8:00pm varying 8 and 4 hours shifts Saturday - Sunday Every other weekend rotation 5:30am - 8:00pm varying 8 and 4 hours shifts Holidays Will be required to work some 5:30am-8:00pm varying 8 and 4 hour shifts Location/Community Information The City of Shakopee is located in the southwest corner of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, 23 miles from Minneapolis, on the Minnesota River.
