Responsibilities Req ID: 61913 Provide quality patient care to patients/families with mental health diagnosis based on the individual treatment plan Assists with collecting assessment data through interviews, 1:1 and group interactions or observations each shift Communicates significant data/observations to RN Observes physical, psychological and safety status of patients on an ongoing basis Reports changes, noted by self or reported by other staff members each shift Provides physical and emotional care to patients, per the direction of the RN using established policies and procedures, care is based on: Age specific needs cultural diversity, lifestyle preferences, psychosocial needs, family dynamics, patient learning needs Participates in the care planning for pt/families and revision of interventions to achieve treatment goals Assists patient in establishing daily therapeutic goals Participate in facilitating therapeutic groups for patients as assigned by RN Takes initiative developing and maintaining safe milieu activities Communicates pertinent patient information to physician, Charge RN and interdisciplinary team members verbally and by written documentation Actively participate in unit milieu and utilize partnership skills to enhance collaboration Assumes responsibility for own growth and development and contributes to a harmonious work environment Develops and maintains positive actions designed to promote courteous and respectful treatment of customers Education Minimum of a Bachelors degree Degree in social/psychological field preferred If degree not in social/psychological field, prior experience in mental health field or evidence of extensive course work in this area Qualification/Skills Experience Mental Health experience desired Skills Written and verbal communication skills Interpersonal skills Ability to work as a team member Licensure/Certifications BLS certification mandatory Work Schedule 32 hours a week, rotating day/night shifts, 8 hour shifts Every other weekend rotation MHA rotates to the ED Mental health suite Location/Community Information With beautiful natural settings along the Mississippi River, St. Paul embodies a large ethnically diverse population with restaurants, cultural entertainment, and shopping venues for everyone.
