Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Laboratory Courier/Mailroom Clerk performs all clerical/secretarial duties necessary for normal laboratory office operation, (i.e. typing, filing, answering phones, mailing results, etc.). Processes specimens for testing. Uses the computer system for registering, accepting, retrieving, and ordering tests on patients. S/he also transports laboratory specimens from Health Systems, laboratories and physicians’ offices to performing laboratory, delivers supplies, and sorts and distributes incoming mail and interoffice correspondence.
Education: High School graduate or GED required
Licensure/Certification: A valid State of Ohio Driver’s license and applicable insurance coverage are required
Experience: A minimum of two years of clerical experience is preferred Previous experience in a Courier role is preferred.
Must have strong verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all constituents. Strong clerical skills, attention to detail, and competency with reading, writing and basic math skills are also required..
