Under general supervision the Patient Access Representative will be responsible for managing outpatient scheduling functions, check-in and check-out for ambulatory areas and providing administrative support to clinical providers. The Patient Access Representative will handle appointment scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referral resources and processing/obtaining referrals and authorizations for ambulatory services utilizing multiple hospital systems. The Patient Access Representative will follow-up on patient inquiries, resolving patient questions/concerns and provide front desk coverage for ambulatory areas in a very fast paced, high acuity department. Must be comfortable working with varied medical, traumatic, psychiatric and special needs settings and with a diverse population.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual skills strongly preferred (Spanish, Portuguese) .
HS graduate plus 1-3 years of experience in a similar setting
Strong customer service skills required
