Job Description: Join our Same Day Surgery department as a per diem Surgical Technologist! This position is responsible for planning and preparing for assigned surgical cases including identifying and coordinating equipment and supplies required for scheduled procedure with RN, preparing the sterile field, and inspecting & taking care of surgical instrumentation and equipment to assure their safety and effectiveness. The Surg Tech assists the surgeon and surgical staff with operative procedures including scrubbing, assisting in gowning and gloving surgeon, anticipating the need for instrumentation, ligatures, sponges and irrigation and anticipates/prepares and assists with dressing application. Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program One year experience as a surgical technologist, preferably in an outpatient setting Completion of national certification exam offered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or completion of exam within 6 months of hire.
