The Sr. Quality Improvement Consultant provide senior level leadership in quality improvement acting as a consultant in performance improvement methods, systems thinking, change management, team facilitation, and data analysis at an organizational, department, process and individual level. This role manage all aspects of strategic projects and/or multiple large, complex projects in support of organizational strategic goals. Provides expertise and facilitates development of standardized approaches to create performance improvement plans, define appropriate tools, methodologies and metrics, analyze and interpret data, manage change and facilitate improvement teams. Mentors and coaches individuals and teams in improvement methods, project management, change management, group dynamics and planning methods. Selects and implements solutions and develops appropriate monitors and control plans to ensure implementation and hardwiring of improvement/change. Creates and presents project status updates to senior leadership. Identifies and removes barriers to project success or escalates to leadership when appropriate.
Bachelor’s degree required (BA / BS), preferably in business, nursing, operations management, industrial engineering, health care, statistics or related disciplines
5 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, Master’s level coursework may substitute for years of experience
1 year experience of in quality improvement in the healthcare industry
5 years project management or performance improvement including phases of project development, management and execution required
5 years’ experience with performance improvement tools, methodologies, measures and analysis
Two of the following certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Green Belt certification
Lean or Six Sigma training and certification
CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality)
ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certification
3 to 5 years of experience in management consulting
Demonstrated understanding of organization operations, strategies, processes, and or priorities in able to achieve effective outcomes
2 years' experience teaching organizational leaders in improvement methodologies, change management, and data analytics
Project managed at least three A3s in large organization with measurable outcomes.
System thinking course work or experience
Human centered design course work or experience
Experience working in a matrix organization
Experience with Epic
