Job Description

Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: The Regions Hospital Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (ADAP) has been helping people since 1972. Under the supervision and direction of the Program Supervisor, the Resident Assistant provides client orientation services, and chemical health services. The RA provides assistance to clients for day-to-day care and performs related duties, such as monitoring clients, assisting in activities, assisting the nursing staff, and documentation of services. Works with clients 18 and older, and their families. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school graduate or GED Experience: - Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: - Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured to drive via Regions Hospital standards and policies. - Complete medication management training and obtain CPR, AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. Must maintain certifications. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Must be free of chemical use problems for a period of one year.* - Must have successfully completed a background study in accordance with Minnesota Rule 11 *Rule 31 part 9530.6450, subpart 1, A and B. One year for paraprofessionals and all other staff with direct client contact. The time period begins to run on the date the employee begins receiving treatment services or the date of the last incident. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Enrollment in an education program that encompasses chemical health AA degree in Human Services preferred Experience: 1 year of experience working with mental/chemical health population or a social service agency preferred. About the program: We believe recovery is a process, not an event, and everyone's path to recovery is different. These principles guide our clients through a full range of services from engagement to intervention, treatment, rehabilitation and support. We have strong relationships with social service and county agencies, and financial and housing organizations, and we help our clients connect with community resources to support long-term recovery. This program is designed for people who need a supportive environment, but who do not need medically supervised detoxification. There are both outpatient and residential programs available. There are also special services for clients being treated for more than one disorder. Schedule

5:30pm to 2:00am Sun, 5:30pm -2:30 am Mon, 11pm to 7:30am Friday and 11pm to 7:30am Saturday
