Job Description

Safe House provides intensive residential treatment services in an apartment-style program providing residents a safe, supportive environment where they can work to successfully transition to the community. As part of this team, the Mental Health Practitioner is responsible for maintaining the safety and welfare of program clients, as well as providing clients with recreational and group activities. Education: Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related field from an accredited college or university. OR Has at least 6,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness. OR Is a graduate student in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and is formally assigned by an accredited college or university to an agency or facility for clinical training OR Master's or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and has less than 4,000 hours post-master's experience in the treatment of mental illness. Experience: (See above) If holding a Bachelor’s degree, must also have 2,000 hours supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Pass Certified Medication Administration (training provided) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good written and oral communication skills Major Job Duties and Tasks: Ensures the general health, safety and welfare of al program clients during shift Provide crisis intervention, as necessary, to address significant behavioral, medical or psychiatric problems Maintain a comprehensive record of client activity and interventions with program clients through daily logs and incident reports Monitor medications and assist clients with daily living skills Provide recreational opportunities to the clients of the program Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 2000 clinically supervised hours working with SPMI adults. Additional Information: Per Diem hours available for qualified Mental Health practitioner in a 9 bed IRTS program in St Paul MN. The mental health practitioner position is responsible for maintaining resident safety, passing medications and completing and documenting rehabilitative encounters, as well as daily progress notes. Hours available include days, evenings, and possibly some overnight shifts on weekends and holidays.
