Responsible for providing customer service to patients in person or by telephone. Schedules appointments and collects required information and patient copays. Monitors patient arrival and wait times, communicating delays and suggesting options as needed. Assists with insurance and account questions as required. May coordinate referral and authorization duties for medical care. Works effectively and cooperatively within the workplace. Location/Department specific tasks and competencies may apply.
High School graduate or GED required.
Experience/TrainingMinimum one (1) year healthcare experience preferred.
Other QualificationsEffective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications to perform work. Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills required. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload amongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities. Superior customer services skills required. Must be proficient with an EMR. Must possess the ability to grasp new programs and concepts quickly. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position (may include overtime and weekend work).
