Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Our fully-accredited non-profit private school combines traditional academics with therapeutic intervention and pre-vocational skill development. Our Adult Services Program includes five licensed community residences/group homes and two adult learning centers. Staffed by experienced therapists and instructors, the program supports adult patients as they attain their highest level of functioning and integration into the community. Matheny's Arts Access program empowers individuals with disabilities to create art without boundaries. Through the use of innovative communication systems, the artists have complete freedom to explore a world that is defined only by their unlimited creativity and unique self-expression.
Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served. Nursing at Matheny is a challenging and rewarding experience. Our focus is on maintaining patient wellness so they can benefit fully from participation in our therapy, education, recreation and community programs. We follow a unit based model of care, with a nurse manager overseeing the overall functioning of each residential unit.

Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required. BSN preferred.
Licensed Registered Professional Nurse by the State of New Jersey Board of Nursing required.
Current CPR Certification required.
Registered Nurse, Specialty Certification preferred.
