Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Our Adult Services Program includes five licensed community residences/group homes and two adult learning centers. Matheny has a career opportunity available for a Full Time Maintenance Mechanic. Desired Qualities of a Maintenance Mechanic: Respect Professionalism Integrity Compassion Duties of this position include: Performs a wide variety of skilled and complex maintenance requests ensuring that maintenance issues are resolved in a safe, effective and timely manner. Repairs and projects include but are not limited to plumbing, electrical and lighting, painting and spackling, sheetrock repair and installation, carpet installation, landscaping and HVAC/heating. Maintains grounds and shrubbery in a neat condition. Utilizes landscaping equipment properly. Completes assignments and reports findings to the Facilities Manager. Performs snow removal. Maintains knowledge of emergency systems and procedures; Assists with alarm system activities. Replaces bulbs and batteries in exit signs and security lights as required. Completes assigned work orders in a timely and efficient manner. Participates in preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections. Participates in all areas related to Joint Commission. Qualifications
