Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures in the application of radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Responsible for abiding by the Ohio Department of Health, National Physics Consultants, Inc., and Lima Memorial Health System’s recommendations, rules and regulations. Interacts with students on a regular basis and oversees their clinical training, when applicable. Responsibilities include an on-call response time required within sixty (60) minutes.
Education:Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) accredited nuclear medicine program.
Licensure/Certification: Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB). Certified by the Ohio Department of Health. BLS required.
Experience: Previous Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
Skills: Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to exhibit patience and tact and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all situations with all constituents including patients, physicians and other associates. Must also demonstrate flexibility with work schedule changes, be cooperative and collaborative, and have the documented ability to work with speed and proficiency while under stress. Performs a variety of nuclear medicine exams including cardiac, bone surveys, VQ, etc. Must be knowledgeable of and competent with Meditech and PACS systems.
