Clinical Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who coordinates the day-to-day functions of all Hemodialysis Department and supports LMHS’s mission, vision, values, and customer service philosophy. Supports LMHS’s commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and CQI Activities, including those related to patient satisfaction. Actively participates in process improvement activities that enhance the likelihood that patients will achieve the LMHS Quality Enhancement Goals (QEP). Adheres to all requirements of the LMHS Compliance Program and LMHS patient care and administrative policies. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. Assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-professional personnel. Makes judgments based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. Functions within the philosophy, objectives, and standards of nursing practice and policies and procedures of the department of nursing. This role plays an important part in the success of the department as this associate will be responsible for evaluation of each associate’s cannulation abilities, sterile and clean technique, reviewing educational assessments, ensuring the efficacy and efficiency of operational hours, and communicating with physicians, documenting their orders, communicating those orders to appropriate staff and ensuring the orders are completed. The Clinical Coordinator functions in conjunction with all other departments to assist in assuring quality patient care. On-call responsibilities required
Education: Is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid unrestricted RN license for the State of Ohio. Current BLS required. ACLS Required within 6 months if not current.CDN (Certified Dialysis Nurse) or CNN (Certified Nephrology Nurse) within 24 months if not current.
Experience: 2 years recent hemodialysis experience. Excellent time management skills, previous primary nursing care experience helpful, Fistula First Program knowledge preferred.
Skills: Must have excellent “customer service” skills, including the ability to exhibit patience and tact with all constituents including physicians, patients and associates. Must be able to function independently as well as in a group and perform under flexible conditions. Be cooperative and collaborative, and have the ability to work efficiently while in stressful situations.Strong Physician communication skills necessary. Must have basic computer skills and EMR (electronic medical records) experience. Must show competency and ability in the practice of nursing. Must have knowledge of correct body mechanics. Necessary traits include verbal, clerical, teaching, and numerical abilities as well as manual dexterity.
