Provides essential support to the Mission and Goals of Franciscan Hospital for Children and the functions of the Medical Staff Credentialing Office. Under the direction of the Vice President of Quality and Safety coordinates all aspects of the office, including organizing and managing medical staff credential files in conformance with policies, regulations and law.
Utilizes technical, critical thinking, and analytical skills to support and coordinate medical staff credentialing and privileging. Provides clerical support for department operations. Assists with survey preparation for medical staff functions. Develops systems to track and obtain necessary documentation. Works closely with medical staff leadership, hospital administration and legal counsel with regard to medical staff and by-law issues.
3-5 years or more of experience in a Medical Staff Services setting. • Familiarity with the requirement of The Joint Commission, CMS and the State of Massachusetts.
National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) Certified Medical Staff Services Professional (CMSSP) of NAMSS Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred, not required.
Excellent computer and word processing skills including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access)
