Under the supervision of the Program Director, the classroom-based special educator is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of each homeroom student’s annual Individualized Education Program plan. The teacher establishes a safe, healthy, stimulating and supportive classroom environment that is conducive to learning and the promotion of cognitive, affective, sensory and motoric skill development. The teacher coordinates the efforts of each student’s primary educational and therapeutic TEAM and acts as the central conduit of information internally among contributing disciplines, with appropriate community-based service providers and, most especially, with the families of students.
Bachelor's Degree; Master of Education preferred
