Facilities Assistant - Haven of Our Lady of Peace We Are Hiring Facilities Assistant – Maintenance – Full-time, Day-shift – Haven of Our Lady of Peace – Pensacola, FL About Us: The Haven of Our Lady of Peace is a 120-bed nursing home operated by Sacred Heart Health System and Methodist Homes for the Aging. Haven's history goes back to 1939 when a brave group of Carmelite Sisters began caring for Pensacola seniors at a home overlooking Perdido Bay. The Haven has enjoyed a reputation for decades as a place where a dedicated staff provides special care.  We are most proud of our homelike atmosphere. The Haven is divided into four living areas, or "neighborhoods" as we like to call them. Each "neighborhood" features a homelike atmosphere. This modern design eliminates long corridors often seen in traditional nursing homes. Each room opens to a common dining and activities area, and to a central nursing station. What you will do: As a Facilities Assistant with the Haven of Our Lady of Peace, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of equipment, systems and structures. Responsibilities: Assists with performing testing, inspection, implementation and maintenance of equipment, systems and structures. Performs minor repairs and replacements, including replacing light bulbs and fire extinguishers, as requested/necessary. Receives and distributes materials throughout the facility. Performs the moving of items within/between locations and from/to storage, including furniture, equipment, and files. Performs duties in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision or direction and initiates immediate corrective action on minor deficiencies; reports major problems to maintenance supervisor for appropriate action. Performs general inspections of properties during repair visits and initiates work orders as necessary. Knows and adheres to safety codes and regulatory agency requirements.
