In affiliation with the University of Florida, Sacred Heart offers the region’s only kidney transplant program, as well as physician residency programs to train the next generation of doctors in internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology.  To learn more about Sacred Heart Health System, visit What You Will Do: Every day that you come to work, you improve people’s lives!  As our Paramedic, you will have the opportunity to provide basic and advanced life support treatments, care and evaluation of patients on scene and during air transport.  Responsibilities: Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility transport under the direction and in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse (RN). Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment, as appropriate. Provides population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions. Inspects, maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public. What You Will Need: Required Credentials: Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credentials from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 90 days (3 months) of hire date or job transfer date.  BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Paramedic credentialed from the Florida Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.  Education: High school diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience, or Associate’s degree, or Technical degree required Work Experience: 1 year of relevant experience preferred Be part of the legacy of Emergency Department healthcare professionals at Sacred Heart.  Sacred Heart’s Emergency Department was ranked among the top 5 percent of E.R.s in the nation in 2010.  Additionally, Sacred Heart in Pensacola is the region's only comprehensive Trauma Center that is staffed and equipped to handle life-threatening injuries in adults and children that provides a 24-hour Emergency Department.
