Cook - Haven of Our Lady of Peace LTC We Are Hiring Cook – Dietary – Full-time, Rotating – Haven of Our Lady of Peace – Pensacola, FL About Us: The Haven of Our Lady of Peace is a 120-bed nursing home operated by Sacred Heart Health System and Methodist Homes for the Aging. Haven's history goes back to 1939 when a brave group of Carmelite Sisters began caring for Pensacola seniors at a home overlooking Perdido Bay. The Haven has enjoyed a reputation for decades as a place where a dedicated staff provides special care.  We are most proud of our homelike atmosphere. The Haven is divided into four living areas, or "neighborhoods" as we like to call them. Each "neighborhood" features a homelike atmosphere. This modern design eliminates long corridors often seen in traditional nursing homes. Each room opens to a common dining and activities area, and to a central nursing station. What you will do: As a Cook with the Haven of Our Lady of Peace, you will have the opportunity to prepare food in compliance with guidelines and standardized recipes. Responsibilities: Reviews menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared. Follows cooking schedule to ensure food will be ready at specified times. Confers with chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers. Adheres to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines in the storage, handling and preparation of food as well as in the sanitation and maintenance of work area. Informs manager of any equipment malfunctions, problems with food quantity or quality, inefficient procedures or workflow. Job requirements: Licenses/Certifications/Registration: Preferred Credential(s): Food Service Professional credentialed from the ServSafe National Restaurant Association.  Education: Diploma  High school diploma or GED required Work Experience: 1 year of relevant experience preferred Equal Employment Opportunity Sacred Heart Health System is an equal opportunity employer.
