Medical Laboratory Technician
Has professional responsibilities for planning, performing, evaluating and reporting CLIA ’88 waived, moderately complex and highly complex testing. This includes pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical function; performing quality control and quality assurance activities; monitoring supply inventory; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with health care providers, and patients, other hospital personnel and other organizations.
Training to include the completion of 12 months in a certified MLT program, or equivalent
Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology, or equivalent organization. Maintain state MA-Phlebotomist license for phlebotomy. Maintain CPR certification (through hospital).
Previous experience required will vary with laboratory requirements at the time.
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions or diagrammatic form. Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
