Who we serve
The region served by Genesis Health System includes Davenport and Bettendorf (in Iowa) and Rock Island, Moline and East Moline (in Illinois). These cities are the center of the Quad City Metropolitan Area, which has an estimated population of 379,690.
Genesis Health System is one of the region's largest employers, with nearly 4,700 employees. Genesis Health System is the largest employer in Scott County, Iowa.

Genesis Health System Earns Iowa Gold Achievment
Genesis Health System has become the first Iowa health system to earn a Gold Achievement, the highest level of recognition from the Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence.
Genesis Health System, which had previously earned Bronze and Silver recognition, is one of just three health care organizations to earn Gold Achievement since the Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence began recognition of performance excellence in Iowa organizations in 2000.
Only six Iowa organizations have earned the Gold Achievement level in the history of the state awards.
Genesis Medical Center Named One of the Nation's Top Cardiovascular Hospitals
For the second time since 2011, Genesis Medical Center, Davenport has been named one of the nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics based on outstanding outcomes and efficiency.
U.S. News Ranks Genesis Medical Center, Davenport "High Performing" in Seven Specialities
Genesis Medical Center, Davenport has been ranked as "high-performing" in seven medical specialties and ranked No. 2 overall among Iowa hospitals in U.S. News Media & World Report’s 2014-15 Best Hospitals rankings.
Genesis Medical Center, Davenport was recognized as “high performing’’ in diabetes and endocrinology; gastroenterology and GI surgery; geriatrics; nephrology; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and, pulmonology.
Genesis Hospitals Awarded Highest Grades In Quad Cities For Patient Safety By Hospital Safety Score
Genesis Medical Center, Davenport and Genesis Medical Center, Silvis have each been awarded “A” grades, the top safety grades in the Quad Cities, from Hospital Safety Score.
Quad Cities Information
Davenport & Bettendorf, Iowa and Moline & Rock Island, Illinois - on both sides of the beautiful Mississippi River, make up the Quad Cities. There are also numerous small communities in the surrounding area. Combined, they provide the benefits of living in a big city, while maintaining a small town atmosphere. The Quad Cities area has a population of 400,000 people and Genesis Health System serves a total regional area of 700,000. We are 3 hours from downtown Chicago and about 55 minutes east of the University of Iowa. The area is noted for an extremely reasonable cost of living while offering plenty of lifestyle options. The Quad Cities are located just off Interstate 80, and are conveniently served by the Quad City International Airport in Moline.
The Quad Cities public schools are statistically among the highest in the nation and parochial schools are plentiful. The area also offers three four year institutions, the many schools of the University of Iowa, and many technical schools.
Culture and Recreation
A dozen museums and galleries and a score of performing arts organizations, including a professional symphony are available. A new, ten thousand seat civic center plays host to the country's biggest entertainers. One can choose from a diverse menu of festivals and special events, from the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival, to the annual Civil War Muster. Riverboat casinos are the choice for some. Baseball and hockey teams satisfy the sports fan. For the more proactive, there is an organization, facility, or space for nearly every imaginable sport.
