Since 1967, Catawba Valley Medical Center has built strong relationships with the people, businesses and communities throughout the Catawba Valley. As the region's largest not-for-profit community hospital, it is our mission to improve the health status of the Catawba Valley. We do this by providing high-quality health-care services, as well as by supporting organizations dedicated to improving our standard of living. We exist to heal and comfort patients, to promote and foster a healthier Catawba Valley, and to assure access to health care to all who need it — not to create profits and return dividends to shareholders. By continuing to work together, we can improve the overall health status of the Catawba Valley and make our community an even better place to call home.

  • Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) in April earned status as North Carolina’s first and only five-time recipient of Magnet Recognition® from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet recognition is the highest and most prestigious distinction a healthcare organization can receive for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care.
  • Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) in June 2019 received the Premier Excellence in Patient Safety Award, joining an elite group of just 22 hospitals nationally who earned the distinction. CVMC was one of only two in North Carolina to achieve the recognition.
