Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Needham
Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham (BID-Needham) is a licensed acute care community hospital affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston. BID-Needham has served residents in Needham, Dedham, Dover, Westwood, Medfield and other surrounding communities for nearly a century. In 2002, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Deaconess-Glover Hospital formalized their long-standing, collaborative relationship with a direct affiliation. The two hospitals' emergency departments have been clinically integrated since 2000. The direct affiliation has facilitated the integration of staff and resources in other clinical areas such as hospital medicine (hospitalists), cardiology, radiology, general surgery, oncology and pathology.
The Hospital provides outpatient and inpatient services, complete diagnostic facilities2 and a full-service emergency department. Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Needham's inpatient facilities2 include medical/surgical beds and a seven-bed intensive and cardiac care unit. Inpatient surgical services include orthopedic procedures and implants, urological, vascular, thoracic, plastic, reconstructive, gastrointestinal, general surgical and gynecological procedures. Outpatient services include endoscopic, ophthalmologic, dermatologic and podiatric procedures, chemotherapeutic and cancer management, cardiac rehabilitation and diabetes management services, and elder assessment programs. The Needham campus also offers occupational health services and nutritional counseling. Diagnostic facilities2 include complete 24-hour histopathology laboratory and blood banking services as well as diagnostic imaging including CT scanning, ultrasound, utltrasonic cardiography, bone densitometry, nuclear medicine, plain film radiology and fluoroscopy.
