Kootenai Health is seeking a cardiovascular technician to join our team!
About the Job
As a cardiovascular technician on our team, you will perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. You will insert small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and into the heart so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the heart's structure and function. You should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. You will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. You may perform a variety of tasks while working under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- Must be available to be on call as needed and able to arrive at the hospital within 20 minutes of a page when on call.
- Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Invasive Technology training program required (or two years of experience in lieu of education.)
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
- BLS required within 60 days of hire.
- RCIS preferred
- Demonstrated ability to scrub, monitor and circulate on the following procedures: diagnostic cardiac catheterization, interventional cardiac procedures, pacemakers, and intra-aortic balloon.
