Pharmacy Tech I (Lincoln Community Health Center, CPhT, Experience Preferred - Full Time)
Lincoln Community Health Center is a Duke University Health System Outpatient Pharmacy.
The pharmacy technician will be based at our pharmacy at Lincoln Community Health Center, a primary healthcare facility in Durham, North Carolina. The Center provides the highest quality of care to a culturally diverse population in the Durham area. The ideal candidate will be performing under supervision a variety of routine and advanced technical duties related to preparing and dispensing drugs in accordance with standard procedures and techniques.They must be able to balance efficiency with accuracy, work both independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment. Being part of an award winning team in work culture and teamwork, the candidate must demonstrate excellence in customer service while ensuring all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met.
Effectively follow workflow procedure with an in-depth understanding of each area (i.e., prescription receipt, data entry, pick-up, filling) for processing of patient medication
Manage personal responsibilities while being able to shift to help team members
Collaborate with other team members to develop patient understandings
Contributes to a high-performing team by looking for opportunities to contribute individual and broader team goals
Remains flexible for scheduling needs while easily adapting to a challenging work environment
Proactively identifying and resolving potential problems to ensure patients have their medications when needed.
Collaborates with immediate pharmacy team, insurance companies, and customers alike to resolve issues, ensure accuracy, and deliver a timely resolution of any medication or insurance related concerns
Prioritizing patient needs and displaying empathy in all interactions to ensure complete patient satisfaction
Actively seeks opportunities to expand clinical, technician and insurance knowledge
Independently able to contact patients via phone to coordinate pick-up of medications refills to ensure medication compliance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized with attention to detail
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently
Recommended but not required a minimum of five years of experience in a retail setting
High School Diploma or equivalent
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification
Registered with North Carolina Board of Pharmacy
