Job Description

The Cellular Therapy Development Technologist II will develop, evaluate, and implement complex, highly specialized, and time-sensitive cell manipulation procedures for use in Phase I/II clinical trials of irreplaceable Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue-Based Products (HCT/P's). The Development Technologist is also responsible for converting developed processes into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for routine use; development of relevant documentation methods; and protocol transition to processing staff.

The development technologist II: (1) assumes responsibility for improvement of existing methods or validation and implementation of new methods; (2) maintains complete and accurate documentation of data generated and work performed; (3) prepares data for publication and peer review, and participates in formal presentations; (4) aids in the investigation, installation, evaluation, validation, and purchase of new supplies, reagents, laboratory equipment and other specialty items (5) participates in the training of laboratory staff, residents, and students in principles of methods and applications within the laboratory, and; (6) assists and mentors other development technologists when needed in the performance of their duties.

The technologist is also responsible for aseptic handling of materials throughout all phases of development and processing; performance of accurate and error-free calculations; maintenance of accurate and detailed documentation; adherence to specialized cleaning and gowning requirements; and for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards, such as cGMP, cGTP, AABB, and FACT.

Bachelors degree in Science or related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of experience in novel cell therapies, or Masters degree or PhD degree in a relevant field of study.
