Director, Food & Nutrition Services (Food Service - FT 40 hours)

Responsible for the oversight and leadership of the activites of the Food Service department in accordance with the facility's mission, vision and values to provide quality nutrition and food service to patients, visitors and staff. Establishes policies and procedures to provide administrative direction for menu formation, food preparation, distribution and service, budgeting, purchasing, sanitation standards, safety, staffing and staff development.
Schedule: Basically 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Must be flexible with schedule to meet the demands of the department.
Bachelors Degree with major studies in food and nutriton, dietetics or food management. Masters Degree in Food Service Management or Registered Dietitian preferred but not required.
At least eight years experience, five of which in food service management/supervision in an acute care hospital or other healthcare setting. Previous Food Service Director experience highly preferred.
Current Serv-Safe certification.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in the use of computers and business software (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Complex problem solving, team development, strategic planning and systems planning/development.
Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology with ability to communicate technical/clinical aspects of department.
Proficiency in TJC, Title XXII, HACCP, Food Code and other applicable regulatory requirements with ability to translate into practice.
Strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills.
Excellent customer service and time management skills.
Excellent financial, budgetary and accounting skills.
