Pharmacy Technician/Quality Analyst

The Quality Analyst, in collaboration with Pharmacy Management, will develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance, quality and safety related to Pharmacy throughout Skagit Regional Health. The incumbent will perform routine audits related to medication purchasing, charging, and distribution to ensure regulatory compliance. In addition, this position may be involved with projects or assignments related to Pharmacy purchasing, inventory and Controlled Substance management, and Pharmacy financial, operational and quality reporting.
High School diploma or GED required. Completion of Pharmacy Technician training program. Bachelors degree in relevant field (IE, related to; Business, Healthcare, or Mathematics) is highly preferred.
Experience/TrainingThis position requires knowledge of drug diversion strategies, WA Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations. Knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution systems is required. One year of hospital Pharmacy experience is required. Prior experience with inventory management and is highly preferred. Knowledge of Pharmacy Purchasing, including 340B, is highly preferred. Prior experience performing compliance and quality audits is highly preferred. Prior experience with preparing presentations is highly preferred. Prior experience training clinical staff is highly preferred. Twelve months of prior hospital experience is required. Prior experience with Sterile Compounding, including Hazardous Drugs, is highly preferred.
License/CertificationCurrent Washington State Pharmacy Technician certification required. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health Career Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred.
Other QualificationsEffective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications to perform work. Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills required. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload amongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities. Knowledge of the healthcare environment required. Operational knowledge of Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) preferred. Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position (may include overtime and weekend work).
