This position is for current Kootenai Urgent Care employees only.
Under indirect supervision, provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
State of Idaho and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty.
BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS within 60 days of hire.
Must be credentialed per Kootenai Health policies and procedures if billing for services under Medicare/Medicaid.
Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.
Pre-employment background investigation required.
Maintain without limitation all other licenses or approvals required by any state or federal regulatory agency with jurisdiction over the provision of the Professional Services, any accrediting body from which the Hospital has sought accreditation, or any public or private payor that reimburses any of the Professional Services.
Have and maintain in good standing membership and full privileges on the Medical Staff of the Hospital coextensive with his/her responsibilities under this job description and comply with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulation and Credentialing Manual.
Be insured under the Hospitals medical malpractice insurance policy at a rate no higher than the group discounted rate provided to the Hospital by the Hospitals medical malpractice insurance carrier for the medical specialty.
Undertake such continuing medical education and similar activities as is necessary for the Physician to remain current as to the standards of practice in the medical specialty as required by state law and undertake the necessary action to stay abreast of current coding procedures and compliance and regulatory requirements in the medical specialty.
