Aiken Regional Medical Centers

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia. Services provided at the hospital include emergency medical care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity, and behavioral health services.


This position prepares specimens by accepted histologic techniques including decalcification, routine and special staining. Assists in the Gross Room by maintaining accurate records of specimens, slides and blocks. Assists with bone marrow aspirations, renal biopsies, frozen sections, and other procedures as necessary.

Essential JobDuties:

Accurate preparation of cytological slides and histological slides.
Embedding, cutting, and routine staining.
Bone marrow aspirations, renal biopsies and fine needle aspiration procedures.
Regeant preparation
Computer data entry.
Instrument maintenance.
Assist in Gross Room.
Receives and opens supplies using the proper procedure.
Cytology specimen preparation.
Assist with training new associates.
Perform special stains
Assist with frozen sections (cutting and staining)
Perform special projects assigned by Management or Lead Tech.
