Buffalo Hospital, located on the western edge of the Twin Cities metro area in Buffalo, Minn., offers high quality, personal care in private rooms and provides many specialty services, including the Birth Center, Cardiac Center, Emergency Services, Sleep Center, Phillips Eye Institute, Courage Kenny Rehabilitation InstituteTM and Virginia Piper Cancer Institute.

Education

Bachelors degree in nutrition from an accredited university

Qualification/Skills

Experience
A minimum of 2-5 years experienced desired

Skills
Possesses knowledge and experience in the bases of medical nutrition therapy as well as a strong background in the functional nutrition approach to nutrition counseling
Demonstrates appropriate use of conventional and functional nutrition within a variety of patient populations
Experience in comprehensive/integrative nutritional program development
Understands integrative medicine and the modalities therein and is able to make informed referrals to other integrative medicine practitioners
Additional training in functional medicine (course work by Jeffery Bland, PhD)
In-depth knowledge of nutritional and herbal supplements, their usages, contra-indications, research basis and availability
Excellent counseling skills
In-depth knowledge and experience in working with integrative medicine practitioners

Licensure/Certifications
Licensed Nutritionist in the State of Minnesota

Work Schedule

casual position. Covering every 3rd weekend remote coverage for Buffalo hospital and Cambridge medical center. This position is required to work two days per month with ability to pick up more days if interested.
