The Audiologist works with people who have hearing, balance, and related ear problems. Using technology and computers the Audiologist will provide essential hearing services. The Audiologist will assist with the treatment of hearing loss and other issues. Responsibility may include the fitting, testing and supplying of hearing aids to hearing impaired clients.
Ability to meet clinic and hospital hiring standards.
Strong clerical skills, including computer software. Knowledge of EMR preferable.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9 and CPT coding desirable.
Masters degree in Audiology required.
Obtain and maintain essential licensure.
Skilled at using the necessary equipment to diagnosis and assist the hearing impaired.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs diagnostic hearing tests including pure tone air and bone conduction testing, speech audiometry and impedance audiometry.
Interpret test results for patients and physicians.
Makes recommendations regarding need for medical follow-up, hearing aids, ear protection etc.
Conduct hearing aid evaluations to determine the most appropriate amplification for an individual and then fit the aids to the patient providing detailed instruction on the operation and maintenance of the instruments.
Provide routine maintenance and hearing aid trouble shooting for aids purchased through this office. This includes but is not limited to, cleaning aids, replacing battery doors, earhooks, earmold tubing, sending aids in for repair, reprogramming aids if there has been a change in hearing.
