We are seeking an experienced PT for after school and evening hours. Please note: We are unable to accept a new grad at this time.
Plans and administers physical therapy programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain, prevent disability following injury or disease within scope of practice.
This is a per-diem position
Essential Job Functions
May coordinate outpatient recreational programs|special events during which all recreation areas, equipment, storage and supplies must be maintained in a safe efficient manner.
Evenings and occasional weekends required (Inpatient).
Selects, administers, and interprets assessment tools as designated in competency expectations including: History, Screening, Observations, and Evaluations as appropriated to patients.
Identifies and prioritizes time realistic functional goals for remediation, compensation, adaptation or prevention of deficits.
Selects, utilizes and evaluates the effectiveness of appropriate treatment methods as designated in competency expectations.
Applies principles of activity analysis for grading physical, perceptual-cognitive and psycho-social demands to produce an optimal mesh of child's or family's abilities to meet environmental demand.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, & team in oral and written formats in both formal and non-formal situations.
As designated in competency expectations, assists in training others. This may include. Staff, PTAs, Aides, & students.
Takes responsibility for seeking supervision or consultation in relationship to clinical performance. Actively contributes to improvement plans effectively utilizes feedback.
Meets competency expectations in explaining symptoms, prognosis and functional limitations for a variety of diagnostic groups.
Makes discharge recommendations appropriate to the child & their family in consideration of childs prognosis, role expectations, and knowledge of community resources (as designated in competency expectations).
Hours: after school/evening hours, would consider Saturday mornings
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience
Tact, initiative and judgment in the performance of duties.
AHA BLS Provider Certification required.
NJ Physical Therapy License or eligible. Valid NJ Driver's License (Inpatient).
Education and Experience - Additional Comments
Bachelors Degree with a major in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Completion of a pediatric affiliation.
Job Specific Contacts
Direct contact with patients, families, nursing, therapists and other health and education professionals. May also include community groups and universities.

Physical stamina for lifting and therapeutic handling of patients.

Assigns work to and follows up for satisfactory completion of duties of physical therapy assistants, aides, orthotics technician and assists with student training.
